Gas-fired current transformers TRG are used in open and closed switchgear in areas with temperate, cold and tropical climates, non-explosive environment that does not contain aggressive gases and vapors in concentrations that destroy metals and insulation.

According to the principle of operation, the transformer is an electromagnetic type device and by design is a gas-filled apparatus, the main insulation of which is elegaz (SF6) or a mixture of gases (SF6 + CF4).
